Canadian Open Vault

Part of TIFF's core purpose is to increase awareness of Canadian Cinema. During the September festival, Film Circuit Showcases Canadian classic films through the Canadian Open Vault programme.

Canadian Open Vault focuses on Canada's rich cinematic past, restoring or striking new film prints for classic Canadian films like Claude Jutra's Mon oncle Antoine; Don Shebib's Goin' Down the Road; Philip Borsos's The Grey Fox, Ted Kotcheff's The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, Gilles Carle's La vrai nature de Bernadette and Peter Carter's The Rowdyman. All of these films are available to Circuit groups across Canada.

The 2009 Canadian Open Vault film is Atom Egoyan's The Adjuster.
